Smith places 1st, 3rd

The Hays Rebel Relays is a tough meet for the Wimberley Texan Track team with many of the other schools being much larger, but there was still success to be found.
Senior Cal Smith took first in the triple jump with a 42-feet, 8-inch jump and third in the placed third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.18 seconds.
“We have pretty high hopes for him and he his running better every week,” Boys Head Coach Josh DeMarcos said. “I think this tough competition is going to have him prepared for district, and hopefully for some success in the regional track meeting.”
No other Texan placed in the top three, but there were still highlights from the event.
