New Graduation Requirements for Students entering Texas High Schools

In 2013, the Texas legislature passed “House Bill 5” (HB 5), which established new regulations impacting graduation requirements, including changes to graduation plans and STAAR (State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness) End-of-Course exams. Wimberley ISD’s current 8th graders have choices to make as a result of this new law as they work with school counselors and their parents to design personal four-year graduation plans.
