Tower over Wimberley? Cell tower may be built next to Post Office

Most people in Wimberley are used to spotty cell phone coverage. It’s one of the hazards of living in a small town, but how far would they be willing to go to improve that coverage?
If it’s up to American Towers, a global company that builds wireless communications infrastructure, a 100-foot-tall cell phone tower will be built next to the Wimberley Post Office.
Locally, many object to the idea. In fact, being able to control the location for cell phone towers is one of the reasons for the city’s incorporation in the first place, according the City Administrator Don Ferguson.
