For the first time in what is believed to be nearly two decades, the Lady Texan track team can claim to be district champions after unseating longtime champion Fredericksburg.
They pulled off the feat by nearly the narrowest margin of victory possible defeating Fredericksburg by 1.33 points. The Lady Texans finished with a score of 170.33.
Going into the 4x400-meter relay, the Texans had a 5.33 point lead. Fredericksburg was picked to finish first and Wimberley fourth.
