Senior Weeks sets school record

By Dalton Sweat

A Wimberley High School record was set last week as Senior JJ Weeks struck out 16 batters from the mound for the Texans.  The pitching performance propelled the baseball team to victory over Canyon Lake 7-2.
The following game, another pitcher stepped up to win one for the Texans. Justin Grey took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before giving up the one and only hit of the game. The Texans (13-9, 7-3) won 1-0 over Canyon Lake to extend their winning streak to six games.
The school record came from an unlikely place. This was Weeks first start as a pitcher for the Texans after missing all of last year with arm injuries.
