The Wimberley Independent School District looks like it will get many of its wish list items from the bond election, which recently were thought to be infeasible, after initial estimates had the projects at more than $3 million over budget.
“When we went from estimated values to bid values, there was about a 20 month period of time, and we saw a huge change in the economy and the building industry,” WISD Superintendent Dwayne York said. “We were literally $3.2 to $3.3 million over budget. With the path we went through to bring this back down to budget, we’ve been able to accomplish that with value engineering and rebidding.”
