Some people fear public speaking. Imagine standing in front of the Texas Senate Committee on Education to discuss one of the hot topic issues, standardized testing, at the age of 15. How about at the age of nine?
That’s exactly what two Wimberley ISD students did last week.
Alexa and Vance Jones, ages 15 and nine respectively, went to the state capitol to share their opinions on House Bill 5 and standardized testing in general.
“It was nerve racking and amazing,” Alexa said. “But I felt confident afterwards.”
