From Staff Reports

Wimberley was a buzz with butterflies and racers over the weekend.
The 16th Annual Butterfly Festival seemed to be a resounding success as thousands of people made their way to town.
The festivities started at the Veteran’s Memorial at EmilyAnn around 10 a.m., but many people already had a full day finished.
The Wimberley 4, a four-mile race or a three kilometer walk through town, had about 200 participants.
The event started at the highs school and finished at the stadium making it an easy trek to Emily Ann.
Around noon, people began pouring into the back of Cypress Creek Cafe for the Blood Sugar Bash to raise money to benefit John Backus, a local man suffering from diabetes.
