Letter to the Editor: County water plan is too expensive

I do not believe the population of San Marcos can, or wants, to pay for two long pipelines to bring water to the San Marcos area. It is horrifically expensive to transport water by pipeline. Here is information from the 2013-2014 Budget of the City of San Marcos: Page 8: "The City of San Marcos is a member of the Hays Caldwell Public Utility Agency which is a joint venture between San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, and several regional water corporations who are working together to firm up future water supplies through the year 2060.
