Grass fire in Mountain Crest

A grass fire in the Mountain Crest subdivision just outside of the Wimberley city limits burned about a quarter of an acre between two homes and a park.
Officials believe the fire was likely started by a cigarette that someone dropped while walking through the park, but they have not determined an official cause.
The fire started at around noon on May 1 and fire crews left the scene around 1 p.m.
