Bond possible for new Hays jail

Citing the need to do so before resorting to “bailing wire and duct tape,” Hays County Commissioners on Tuesday heard a presentation about the future of public safety facilities and discussed financing a new jail and law enforcement building with a possible November bond election.
The bond election would be in the neighborhood of $100 to $120 million, and the discussion included bringing in the city of San Marcos in a “co-location” for police and sheriff’s deputies.
