Budget and tax rate proposed by Comm. Court

Last week, the Hays County Commissioners Court proposed a tax rate of .4690 per $100 of assessed valuation for FY 2015 and a County budget of $157,417,133 and set hearing dates for public comment on both.
The proposed tax rate is the same as for FY 2014, the current tax year, but since more improved property is on the tax rolls, there would be an increase in tax revenue collected of approximately $3,651,827.
