In 1980 they moved to Wimberley, where they were charter members of Wimberley United Methodist Church and were active participants throughout the years with a host of friends and fellow volunteers.  Dot was a longtime member of The Wimberley Community Chorus and the church choir. She was also an ardent supporter of Keep Wimberley Beautiful, Wimberley Democrats and the League of Women Voters.  She generously gave her time to Meals on Wheels, the Wimberley community thrift store, and Deer Creek Nursing Center.
