The La Vernia Bears combined a balanced attack on offense and a dominant defensive performance to shut out the Wimberley Texans 28-0 in the 2014 season opener. The Texans struggled right out of the gate and were not able to overcome their slow start. Despite the improvements the team made in the second half, the Texans were unable to put the ball in the endzone for the length of the contest.
