The Wimberley Texans came up short in their season opener on Friday when they hosted the La Vernia Bears in the third meeting between these two teams in the last calendar year.
“First off that’s a dang good football team over there,” said Head Coach Doug Warren, “And we knew that coming in. They won 12 ball games [last season] and they had everybody back. So we knew what we were up against.”
The Texan offense struggled mightily in the first half amassing just 79 total yards and only one first down.
