The city of Wimberley’s request to amend its wastewater permit for the Central Wimberley Wastewater System is up for public comment through Aug. 25.
The city has requested the amendment to allow for a wastewater system with an interim volume of 75,000 gallons per day and a maximum volume not to exceed 100,000 gallons.
The language in the permit that concerns many citizens is the potential for discharge of the treated effluent into Deer Creek; however, the city says that is a last option, not the plan.
