School district budget up, tax rate stable

The WISD Board of Trustees met at their scheduled meeting on Monday night. The main subject of the meeting was the 2014-15 fiscal budget.
Presented by Chief Financial Officer Randall Rau, the district’s budget is based on student enrollment of 2,050, with daily attendance at 1,975. The net taxable value for the district is estimated at $1,257,169,913 based on Hays County Appraisal District’s property values. This is an increase of $33 million or 2.72% over 2013.
