Wimberley View website changing for the better

The Wimberley View is débuting a new addition to www.wimberleyview.com that will make the site more user friendly for Viewers looking for news online.
Starting this week, full articles will be available to subscribers in online in addition to the standard eEdition, which is the newspaper in digital form.
The new display method will allow users to scroll through the website to see the title, photo and a summary of the article. After clicking on the article of choice, it will be available in full for those logged in.
Some readers will still want to view the digital copy of the newspaper, which is almost like having the newspaper in printed form on your screen. Others will enjoy the new feature that will allow them to read each article individually instead of having to flip through the pages. It will be a seamless transition for readers who are accustomed to browsing news articles on the internet.
With this change, the Wimberley View will also allow readers to buy a one-day pass which will open up access to the website just like a subscriber for .99 cents.
This will be valuable for many of our regional Viewers who only want to keep up with specific topics. For example, the article run in the Wimberley View on Mt. Baldy went viral a few months ago, but only a portion of the article was given away for free.  This was intentional because we must provide the best content to our subscribers and those purchasing the newspaper on a weekly basis. If we gave away our most popular articles for free, we wouldn’t be able to stay in business.
This new change will allow for a nice middle ground. Those who only wish to purchase the paper when a specific article peeks their interest will be able to purchase a one-day subscription. Those who want all the news the Wimberley Valley has to offer have a new way to read the news.
This will also allow for faster coverage. By having a method to allow paying customers to view content on our website without having to run it in the paper, we can put news online in a more immediate fashion.
This will be perfectly illustrated with the Wimberley View’s coverage of Texan football games. Previously, with games playing on Friday nights while the paper comes out on Thursdays, recaps and stats from each week’s games have seemed dated by the time the next paper hit the stands. With this new feature, we will be able to provide immediate recaps online for subscribers to see after the game. Texan fans will love this addition in a situation like the game two weeks ago versus Canyon Lake where Brock McDorman caught the game winning touchdown pass with four second left on the clock. In those moments when fans are thirsting for more analysis and quotes from Texans Head Coach Doug Warren, the Wimberley View will be able to provide that in a timely manner after the game. Subscribers will be able to log in and view the content or parents who are out of town could pay .99 cents to catch up on the action for the day.
This new ability will be a great addition for the Wimberley community to allow for easier access and more timely coverage of events. We hope you enjoy it.
