EmilyAnn hosts butterfly art contest
From Staff Reports
The EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens is brimming with butterflies. Not actual butterflies just yet, those will arrive in a couple of weeks in time for the 16th Annual Butterfly Festival, but rather butterfly art created by thousands of young artists from around the state. Each year, the EmilyAnn holds a Butterfly Art Contest in conjunction with the festival. Students in grades K-12 submit entries which are juried by local artists. Entries are submitted in two categories, fantasy and realistic. The butterfly chosen as Best in Show is featured on the t-shirt for the next year's festival.
