Mourning one of our own

We at the Wimberley View and Dripping Springs Century News are sad to announce that one of our own passed away this week. Reagan Bell, the route carrier for the Wimberley View and the Dripping Springs Century News, passed away suddenly this weekend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Valerie and family.
I’ve only known Reagan for a few short months since San Marcos Publishing, LP. bought the two papers at the beginning of March. He was earnestly a kind person and will be sorely missed.
Reagan was 65 years old and from Dripping Springs. Many businesses will surely miss him also. He stopped by dozens of places weekly delivering the papers and many more when we produced our bi-annual visitor’s guides.
As the papers grew in size and quantity over these last few months, Reagan encountered a new problem. He could no longer fit all the papers in his car. We joked last week about the issue and how “buy a new car” was not a realistic option. We made plans on how to tackle the situation in the future. Thinking of these types of plans seem painfully ironic now that he is gone.
“He was just the sweetest man,” Taffy Barker, who has worked at the Wimberley View with Reagan since before he started in September of last year, said. “He was always such a hard worker and so nice.”
As information comes available, we will make sure to keep the community apprised of any services or memorials. Please keep Reagan’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
