Barbara Joyce Reavis

Barbara Joyce Reavis, 76, of Kyle, TX passed away Sunday, July 20th, surrounded by her adoring family.  Barbara was born in Belcher, LA on February 13, 1938 to Willie and Bessie (Evans) Walker.  

As an educator, Mrs. Reavis worked for several school districts; she had a lifelong passion for missions, and served at the Southern Baptist International Mission Board.  She was a faithful member of the San Marcos First Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Mrs. Reavis was preceded in death by her grandson, Andrew Reavis; and brother, Lester Walker.  

Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, Don Reavis; son, Bill Reavis and his wife, Melanie of Tappahannock, VA; daughter, Arlene Spencer and her husband, Clifford of Wimberley, TX; grandson, Will Reavis and his wife, Sarah; grandson, Kyle Reavis; grandson, Clayton Spencer and his wife, Katelyn; grandson, Cody Spencer; grandchildren Brittney, Rachael, and Hunter Throckmorton; brother, Leon Walker and his wife, Reba; and brother, Charles Walker and his wife, Kathy.  

Friends may call on the family from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, July 24th at the Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos, TX.  A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 25th at the Wimberley Cemetery.  A celebration of Mrs. Reavis’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 25th at the San Marcos First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Newton officiating.
