The home, garage and recreational vehicle of Gay Berry’s home in Driftwood burned down on Thursday, July 24.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
A neighbor was working with the water company across the street when he saw the fire in the garage and called 9-1-1 at 12:06 p.m.
North Hays Fire Department arrived at the scene at 12:14 p.m. to fight the fire.
“At this point, the only thing we have narrowed down is that the fire started in the garage,” Hays County Assistant Fire Marshal Clint Browning said. “So far, nothing is looking suspicious, but nothing has been ruled out. It is still under investigation, and hopefully, we will have the cause determined this week.”
