The sales tax numbers are in for last month and Woodcreek, for the second time this year, received a large windfall.
Each municipality in Texas receives a portion of sales tax depending on how much is collected by the state within each city’s jurisdiction.
For the August sales tax allocation, Woodcreek saw a 337 percent increase compared to August of last year. The total amount collected was $16,464.
This is the second time this year that the city has received a comparably large allocation from the comptrollers.
