Gary Lynn Goodman

Gary Lynn Goodman, 62, passed away on January 31, 2015. The family accepted guests on Friday, February 6, 2015, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services were held at Bellview Baptist Church on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 11:00am with Pastor Rick Holeman officiating. Interment followed at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Cindy Mooty

Very beloved, Cindy Mooty was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on December 17, 1957. She was a graduate of Texas State University and had a long career in real estate management. Then, after 20 years as president of Bayou City Glass, she retired and moved to Wimberley in 2010. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Wimberley.

On January 1, 2015, Cindy passed away peacefully with her family by her side.  She is survived by her mother, four loving siblings (and their spouses), two step-children, and one step-grandchild. She is also survived by numerous other relatives, as well as a large volume of Wimberley friends.

Paul Anderson Xiques

Paul Anderson Xiques passed away at the age of 83 in his home in Wimberley, Texas. He was born in Staten Island, NY, to Frank W. Xiques and Evelyn Reilly Xiques. Paul was a graduate of Ridgewood High School, Ridgewood, NJ. He enlisted in the US Air Force and received his commission as an officer in 1953. His was a distinguished career, with assignments including Saudi Arabia, Germany and Viet Nam where he served as a Navigator and Electronic Warfare Officer. He ended his career with assignments at Kelly AFB and Lackland AFB retiring in 1975 with the rank of Lt. Colonel.

Ret. Master Chief Petty Officer Joseph Norman Desmarais

Ret. Master Chief Petty Officer Joseph Norman Desmarais, U.S.N., 88, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014, surrounded by his family at Hospice Austin Christopher House.

Joe was born on September 18, 1926, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, to William and Grace Desmarais. He was the youngest of eight children.

Joe entered the U.S. Navy in 1943, shortly after his 17th birthday, joining his four brothers in World War II military service. He was honorably discharged at the end of the war but rejoined the Navy in 1949. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was honorably discharged from active service in 1972.

Leland Eugene Derrick

Leland “Lee’ Eugene Derrick, III, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his home in League City. He was born on March 31, 1953 in San Marcos, Texas to Leland Jr. and Carolyn Harris Derrick, grandson to Dr. Leland E. Derrick and Delia May Thomas Derrick of San Marcos, and Gay and Carolyn Lowery Harris of Wimberley. As a youth, he spent summers alongside his grandfather tending livestock and helping at Harris and Son Wool and Mohair store in Wimberley. He graduated from Parkway Central High School of Creve Coeur, Missouri in 1972.

Dorothy Sue (Leveritt) Hall

Dorothy Sue (Leveritt) Hall, of Wimberley, was born January 3, 1935, in Galveston, and died on November 7, 2014, surrounded by her family.  

Dorothy was an active member of the Wimberley Birding Society, a long-time volunteer at the Wimberley Village Library and a master at genealogical research on her Leveritt ancestors.  

She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in government and earned a masters in library science from North Texas University in Denton.

Bruce Carter DeHart

Bruce Carter DeHart (age79) of Wimberley, TX peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 during a brief stay at CTMC in San Marcos, TX. He was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was born January 18, 1935 in Colombus, KS, to parents Albert & Sybil DeHart. Siblings included brother David, sisters Phyllis and Mary Ellen and brother Lynn.

Cynthia “Ann” Semmelrogge

Cynthia “Ann” Semmelrogge, 69, of Wimberley, TX passed from this earth on Sunday, October 26, 2014.  Ann was born February 16, 1945 in Stamford, TX and adopted by William “Bud” Knowles and Thelma Nelson Knowles 5 days later.  She married Phil Semmelrogge on December 27, 1963 and they enjoyed more than 50 years  together.  Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Michelle McDonagh.  Surviving her is her husband, Phil, granddaughter, Shannon McDonagh of San Leon, TX, great granddaughter Bailee McDonagh and many Knowles cousins and Nelson cousins.
