Warren Henry Walker

Warren Henry Walker, of Wimberley, (formerly of San Antonio) passed away Christmas day, 2017 at the age of 97. He was born in La Porte, Texas to Mary C. Price and Green Monroe Walker. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII and was a 33rd degree Mason. He spent his life, ahead of the curve, studying the intricate balance between agriculture and human sustainability. With his vast knowledge and experience, he assisted many ranchers with feed and supplement requirements for their private herds. He donated and shared his knowledge with the University of Missouri and Texas A&M University.

Dale Harold Young

Dale Harold Young, 98, of San Marcos, TX and formerly of Woodcreek, TX passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2018.  Dale was born on June 22, 1919 in Marion, IN to Floyd and Grace (Bailey) Young.  He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.  Mr. Young was a former store manager at A & P grocery store in Wabash, IN and he was a former foreman at Wabash Magnetics where he retired from in 1981 and moved to Wimberley, TX.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Erma Deanne Young in 2016.  He is survived by his son, Mike Young and his wife, Vickie, of Wimberley, TX; son, Randy Young and his wife, Trudi, of Battle Creek, MI; three grandchildren, Coby Young, Jami Treat and Katy Palmiter; and seven great-grandchildren.  Friends may call on the family from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Domonic (Neko) Alizae Crecelius

On December 29, 2017, Domonic (Neko) Alizae Crecelius, age 10, passed away at his home from a severe asthma attack. He was born on June 2, 2007 in Brownsville, TX to Candice Crecelius and moved to Wimberley when he was 4 years old.

Domonic attended WISD since pre-k and was currently in 5th grade class at Jacob's Well. His favorite subjects were art and science. He loved to draw pictures of characters from his favorite cartoon show, Naruto and gave his drawings to others as gifts. While many people were attracted to Neko’s warm personality, he considered Scott Nicely to be his very best friend. He was thoughtful, caring and always willing to help others. His kind heart and sweet loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

He is preceded in death by his great, great grandmother and his great grandfather.

Carl Frederick Scudder

Carl Frederick Scudder Jr. was born in Dallas, Texas, to Carl Frederick Scudder and Adelia O’Meara Scudder on September 18, 1929.  In 1939 the family moved to their Twin Mountain Ranch in Wimberley.  Carl grew up working on horseback tending to their Angora goats and sheep and enjoying  summers swimming and playing in Cypress Creek.  

He attended Wimberley school through the 10th grade.  After that Wimberley students had to find their own transportation to finish high school. Carl carpooled with his classmates each day to San Marcos, but because he participated in athletics in the afternoons, he had to hitchhike home later, hoping to catch a ride with one of the two cars traveling to Wimberley on RR12 in the evenings.

After graduating from San Marcos High School in 1947, Carl attended Texas A&M in College Station, graduating in the class of ‘51.

Roy Edward Albertson

Roy Edward Albertson
(Feb. 10, 1933 – Dec. 30, 2017)

Beloved Patriarch and Pillar of the Wimberley community passed away at Seton Hays Hospital in Kyle, only six weeks after the passing of his wife, Faye Albertson. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Garrid Albertson, mother, Eunice Dickey Albertson, son Darrel Ray Albertson, grand-daughter, Kaycie Raymond.    

The owner of REA Electric, Roy was known and respected for his fun-loving personality, honesty, and commitment to his work. The first licensed electrician in Wimberley, Roy truly brought light to Wimberley Valley homes and businesses, as well as to the many people who loved him.

Roy Albertson was born in Houston in 1933. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High in 1950 and found work with Eidson Electric, with whom he stayed for 29 years.

Josephine “Josefina” C. Guerrero

Josephine “Josefina” C. Guerrero, a resident of Maxwell, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the age of 91. Her family will hold mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Martindale this Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery in Reedville. Eldridge Eason

Longtime Wimberley resident, Eldridge Eason (world’s greatest Dad), died peacefully on October 4, 2017.  Eldridge was born March 2, 1927, in Silsbee, Texas to Tom and Palma Eason.  After high school he served in the US Navy during World War II.  He attended college on the VA Bill and graduated with a Business Administration Degree from Sam Houston State University in 1949 and a Masters in Education from the University of Houston in 1952.  He taught business and typing and drove the school bus at Spring Branch High School in Houston eventually becoming a Counselor, Assistant Principal, Principal, and eventually Assistant Director of Personnel.

Fred Ray Wade

Fred Ray Wade, 80, of Woodcreek, TX, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 11, 2017.

Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat Wade, daughter Kristie (Steve), daughter Kimberly (Kevin), and son Patrick (Jessica), and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Fred was a loving and dedicated father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.

Fred was an avid golfer and gardener until he was forced to stop due to heath conditions, but he remained active in his accounting practice. He enjoyed sports and attended many basketball, baseball and football games; high school, college and professional, throughout his life.  Fred loved serving at his church, going the extra mile for his clients and supporting many others who needed his help.

Lyle Fredrick Eveleigh

Lyle Fredrick Eveleigh passed away on September 16, 2017 at the age of 76.

A native of Dexter, NY, he attended General Brown High School. He served in the Army for 8 years, where he studied Electronics. After many years working for Emerson Electronics and James River, he formed his own company, MNE Enterprises. Lyle traveled the world as a trouble shooter for all types of industrial plants. He was well respected and had a great reputation in the industry where he became fondly known as the “The Drives Doctor.”  Lyle enjoyed playing pool, singing karaoke and spending time with friends and family.  Lyle lived in Orange, TX much of his adult life and moved to Wimberley, TX in 2005. Even at age 76, he never fully retired, as he loved to work and help others that shared his passion for electronic trouble shooting. Lyle adored Wimberley and was happy to call it home.

Clark Allyn Aylsworth

Clark Allyn Aylsworth, 71 passed away September 15, 2017. He was born September 30, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. 

He was an Airforce brat that lived all over the world, including Asia, Washington D.C., California and Texas. He was a student at TMI in San Antonio and UC Davis in California. He travelled Europe and worked on a yacht on the Mediterranean Sea. Clark proudly served in the National Guard for seven years. He was co-founder of Auric United and worked with his father as V.P. of United Services Funds. He then moved to the “quiet life” as an innkeeper in Wimberley, Texas and later decided to retire in Rockport, Texas. Clark enjoyed a good laugh and had a lot of passion when he took an interest in something. He cared deeply for his children and will be greatly missed.
