Sandra Kay Booth

Sandra Kay Booth, 61, of Wimberley, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 in Wimberley, Texas.

Sandy was born in St. Louis, Missouri to David Louis Siebenmorgen and Pauline Faye Chaffin on June 28, 1955. She began her career working at the University of Texas in Austin and moved on to become an entrepreneur and start a family. She was a loving mother, experienced gardener, and creative cook. 

Sandy was preceded in death by her father, David Siebenmorgen.

She is survived by her son, Jacob Booth of Wimberley; her daughter, Riley Booth of Wimberley; her brothers, Michael Siebenmorgen and wife, Susan of Longmont, CO, Dale Siebenmorgen and wife Yvette of Flower Mount, TX, and Alan Siebenmorgen of Lee Summit, MO.

Olive Dorothy Schnabel

Provost, Olive Dorothy Schnabel, age 90, passed away suddenly on July 30, 2016 while visiting her two sons in Wimberley, Texas.  Olive was born January 3, 1926 in Sellersville, Pennsylvania to Katherine Schramm Schnabel and John Peter Schnabel.

Robert Ford Cox

Robert Ford Cox (62) passed away peacefully at his Wimberley, Texas home on Tuesday, July 26, 2016.  For many years, Robert battled diabetes and heart disease and finally succumbed in his fight against these diseases.

A sixth generation Texan, Robert was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in southwest Houston.  He was a frequent visitor to Wimberley, Austin, and the Texas Hill Country.  He graduated from Lamar High School and attended Austin Community College.  He became a licensed Residential Water Treatment Operator and a member of the Austin Engineering Association.  He worked for Austin Culligan, Continental Water of Austin, and Water Technology in Wimberley, and his own firm Cox Water Conditioning prior to his retirement from the water business.

Lana Joyce Cummings

Lana Joyce Cummings of San Marcos, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at the age of 67.  She was born June 9, 1949 in Rosenberg, Texas, to Raymond R. Tomlinson, Sr.  and Joyce (Eber) Tomlinson.

Her parents and her daughter, Vikki Cummings Rosenkran (2015) preceded her in death.  She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Cummings.

Elizabeth Ann Swingler

Elizabeth Ann Swingler was born to Alvis James Swingler and Nora Lee Dowdy Swingler on January 13, 1934 in Bremond, Texas. She graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1952 and went on to college at Abilene Christian College in Abilene, Texas where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Her first employment was with Humble Oil Company in Houston, Texas. In 1959, she moved to Honolulu and worked in a judge’s office as a law clerk. It was there she met and married John William Ward on October 7, 1960. They then moved to Arlington, Texas where their daughter, Lee Ann, and son, John Thomas, were born. She and her husband, John, subsequently lived in Saudi Arabia and Florida and finally in Wimberley, Texas where she passed away July 2, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

Richard Lynn Thompson

Richard Lynn Thompson was born on June 11, 1932 in Pierce County, Wisconsin to Lottie Sebby Thompson and Joseph L. Thompson. He spent his early childhood on the Wisconsin dairy farm owned and operated by his parents. When Richard was a teenager, his family moved to the Los Angeles area and Richard graduated from Van Nuys High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA and a Master of Science degree from USC in Industrial Engineering. He was a licensed Professional Engineer in California. Richard worked as an engineer at various machining and oil drilling equipment firms. He invented a solenoid whose patent had 16 points, and was licensed and generated royalties, until it expired.

HC Carter, 82, passed away in his sleep and slipped into eternal life with the Lord on Sunday Eve the 26th of June 2016.  He was born July 17, 1933 in Mexia, Texas.

Mary was born September 23, 1921 in Houston, Texas.  She passed away at the age of 94 on June 30, 2016 in Kingwood, Texas.

David Allen Sands

Lt. Col. David Sands joined his beloved wife in heaven Saturday, June 25, 2016 peacefully but on his own terms, after a brief illness.  He is survived by his three children; David Sands (wife Kim) of Austin, Kim Blauser (husband Bill) of Fair Oaks Ranch and Lisa Reifsnider (husband Jason) of Austin, and six grandchildren; DJ and Katherine Sands, Evan and Zack Blauser, Galen and David Reifsnider.  There is also a beloved cousin Debby Dennis (husband Bruce) of Monrovia, California.

David was born in Wooster, Ohio in 1931 but eventually moved with his family to Arcadia, California.  He grew up an only child but raised by three sisters and an uncle in a unique family situation when his mother died and his father was called off to WWII.  He would grow up with a fascination with trains and a love of flying.
