Ida Idell Falk Tenny

Ida Idell Falk Tenny lived a brilliant, vibrant life from May 5th, 1942 to September 21st, 2017. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was beloved by many, and all who met her can recall when they were touched by her grace and kindness. Known to many as ‘Nanny’, her joy and her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren.

Patricia “Pat” Bishop

Patricia “Pat” Bishop passed away the morning of Wednesday, September 20, 2017, in San Marcos, Texas.  Pat was surrounded by her family as she passed away peacefully.  While Texas had been home for most of Pat’s life, the Bishop family lived in Alaska for over 20 years.  Pat had a large network of friends and loved ones in both Texas and Alaska.  While not adventurous by nature, Pat and her family had the wonderful opportunity to move to Alaska in 1976.  After 20 wonderful years in Alaska, Pat and Hebert “Hit” moved back to Texas and settled in Wimberley.  Pat’s greatest accomplishments in life revolved around her family and friends.  Everyone who met Pat instantly realized her sweet and caring nature; she never met someone she didn’t love, or who didn’t love her.  Pat and her husband of 63 years, Hit Bishop, have three children, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  Pat

Robert C. Sherwood

Robert C. Sherwood, 65, of Wimberley, Texas, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on September 16, 2017.  He was born in Hugoton, Kansas on December 6, 1951.  His parents, Claude W. and Josephine C. Sherwood, preceded him in death. Growing up in El Paso, Robert graduated from Eastwood High School and received a BS in education from UTEP.  

In 1988 Robert married his true love, Sarah Bardouche’, at Ascension Lutheran Church in El Paso.  Robert was a teacher and coach at Jefferson and Burges High Schools in El Paso, then continued his career for 21 years at San Marcos High School in San Marcos, Texas, retiring in 2012.  Robert enjoyed coaching his own children’s youth sports, especially the Wimberley Warriors.

Dermot Doyle

Dermot Doyle, 91, of Wimberley passed away at home on September 5th, 2017. He was born in 1925 to William Doyle and Martha Warsin Doyle in Chicago, Illinois. Along with his sisters, Luena and Martha, Derm enjoyed growing up in such a vibrant city along the shores of Lake Michigan. After graduating from Waller High School, he joined the US Navy, serving aboard the USS Albe Marle during World War II.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Derm continued his studies through the GI Bill and graduated from Northwestern University, later earning a master’s degree from the University of Southern California.  He served many years working for the US government in Europe, first in Paris and then in Madrid.  He was married twice, first to Raquel Lopez and, after her passing, to Carlota Vasquez, whom he survived.  Each marriage, of many years, was to a lovely person.

Doris Marie Jones

Doris Marie Jones, 82, of Wimberley, Texas passed away September 11, 2017 and went to her eternal resting place in Heaven. Bob Wesley Dobie

Bob Wesley Dobie, age 87, passed away at Fredericksburg Nursing Home, on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
Born September 29, 1929, in Wimberly, Texas, he lived in Blanco, Texas where he enjoyed his many pigs, sheep and goats. He served in the military and worked as a fireman at Fort Sam Houston. Survivors include his three daughters, Debi Dobie Horne, Donna Dobie Parks and Diane Dori Dobie, his stepdaughters, Sherry Williamson and Lynda Waggoner and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Clara.
Burial will be held in private. Memorial contributions are welcome and would be greatly appreciated to be sent to Sammy’s House, 2415 Twin Oaks Dr., Austin, Texas 78757.

Gary David McCoy

Gary David McCoy was born October 27th, 1955 to Allan Boone and Elizabeth Culberson McCoy in Corpus Christi, Texas. 

Gary graduated form Clear Lake High school and began working in the construction industry building homes and customs furniture. He later moved to Virginia where under the guidance of his uncle, Jim Homeyer, Gary studied for and earned his real estate license selling homes in Dale City, Virginia for 7 years. After returning to Texas, Gary worked with Tori Homes in the Austin area during the tech boom of the early 1990’s. While working at Tori homes, Gary met the love of his life, Maya. He and Maya shared many years together growing a relationship built on love, caring and friendship until Gary passed away surrounded by family and friends.
