WHS Band ‘one of best’ years ever

By Dalton Sweat - Editor

The Wimberley High School band recently finished off what Band Director Bing Bingham called “one of the best” seasons the band has ever had.
The band was presented with a Sweepstakes award, which means they received the highest ratings in each of the three competitions, from all three judges, this year.
It was the ninth Sweepstakes in the history of WHS and the seventh in the last 13 years.

“She is trying to break the 3A State Record,” Head Coach Lacey Lambert said.
Long has already pushed well above the 13 foot one inch record, but for it to officially count, she must do it in the State meet. Her personal best currently stands at 13 feet six inches and still, the future University of Texas Longhorn has higher sights.
