Great buying opportunity from the Betas

By Oda Lisa

In this age of rampant fund-raising, very few organizations operate without overhead expenses thereby insuring that all monies raised are wholly applied to a specific purpose. One such service organization is a small group of women who refer to themselves as the “Betas.” On Saturday, May 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., this group will conduct their semi-annual garage sale with the entire funds going toward community causes which are voted on by the members.

Potential cell tower faces legal questions

By Dalton Sweat - Editor

AT&T is now considering other options for a cell tower in the Wimberley Valley after a meeting with about a dozen citizens, and the city of Wimberley now believes it should be able to regulate the tower even though it would be built on federal property.
Though the attendance at the meeting was not strong, leading many to believe that Wimberley didn’t have an issue with the potential location of a 100-foot cell tower on the parking lot of the post office, AT&T seems to have still heard the concerns.
